Rafsanjan Pistachio Producers Cooperative is a non-governmental organization in the field of production and export of agricultural products that can be considered as a model for other agricultural production sectors. Valuable experiences in increasing production, improving productivity and earning foreign exchange and rial revenues, have been able to earn more than two billion and 631 million dollars in foreign exchange earnings, a significant contribution to achieve the goals of our country's non-oil export development program
. The success came as the cooperative did not enjoy the same benefits as the government in other agricultural products. During this period, we have gone through a very difficult and long period, and with enduring a lot of suffering and hard work and countless efforts of cooperative officials, we have been able to bring Iranian pistachios to the first place in world markets. Iran currently holds 55% of world production, 83% of the world consumer market, 74% of the European consumer market and more than 60% of the Far East market, and the outlook for the future is much clearer than ever.
Rafsanjan Pistachio Producers Cooperative Company, with the aim of organizing the export situation and stabilizing the purchase price of pistachios in thirty-five years ago, started to put an end to its unhealthy situation. At that time, thousands of pistachio growers were suffering from an unfavorable economic situation and could not find a way to prevent the unreasonable decline in pistachio prices during the harvest season. Gardeners set up a cooperative in the hope that they could put an end to these problems by putting together resources.
Rafsanjan Pistachio Producers Cooperative Company tries to act according to the latest international standards by using scientific methods in producing pistachio products in order to reduce costs and increase productivity. In fact, today's cooperatives themselves play a key role in setting these standards. The harvest rate as well as the quality of pistachios produced in the country, although far from cooperative ideals, but has a good quality growth that can maintain the position of Iranian pistachios in world markets in a stable position.
